Simone de Haas wins Matilda Award
The best of Brisbane theatre for 2011 was recognized on Monday 12th March at the annual Matilda Awards, the Brisbane equivalent of the Green Room or the Helpmann Awards. The Matilda's were also celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, 25 years of providing a platform to promote and applaud the local theatre scene.
Each year five major Matilda Awards are presented which can be awarded for outstanding work in any area of the theatre industry and may be given for a body of work, or for a single work. Among those recognized this year were:
Simone de Haas for her artistic direction of Mixed Company and commitment to
producing quality self-funded independent theatre across three decades; including directing, designing and acting in its body of work.
Simone de Haas chosen as the "Pick of the Crop" to close National Speakers' Association of Australia (NSAA) UnConvention 2012.
Simone presented her keynote "Presence and Visibility for Leaders" as part of the Post Convention Workshop series on Monday 2nd April 2012.
